Henry and Jamie’s epic Coast2Coast Adventure in memory of Archie Wellbelove
Whilst I’m sure many of you were sensibly staying at home, sheltering from the very wet and windy Hurricane Bertha who graced us with her presence at the weekend, Henry Wellbelove and his friend, Jamie Rawstorne were battling the elements on their mammoth 225km Coast2Coast charity bike ride for the Road Victim’s Trust in memory of Henry’s brother, Archie.
The boys set off from Whitehaven on Saturday morning and aim to arrive in Sunderland by Monday evening, where hopefully a hot bath and a cold pint will be waiting!
As many of you will know, Archie was tragically killed in a car accident on 7th December 2012 and the Road Victim’s Trust (RVT) has been instrumental in providing solace to Grant, Katie, Henry and Mathilda through such a difficult time.
The RVT was founded in 1995 and is a non-profit-making charitable organization providing effective emotional and personal support to those affected by road collisions in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. There is no statutory funding for the organization so all costs are raised by grants, donations and fundraising events.
The boys had an initial target of £1,000 but it was a toss up whether to go for £500, a sum they felt was more achievable. Well, little should they have worried as the figure currently stands at £15,361.95! On behalf of Henry, Jamie, Grant and the Wellbelove family, we would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all of our wonderful clients, friends and colleagues who have been incredibly generous in pledging money.
We would like to wish the boys the very best of luck for the final leg of their journey. We are exceptionally proud of their achievements, hard work and dedication and know Arch is with them every peddle of the way.
